Description

DHU Health Care CIC is a not-for-profit community interest company providing a wide range of urgent and integrated primary care services across the East Midlands and beyond. With a workforce of over 2,000 colleagues, we deliver NHS 111, out-of-hours, urgent care, and community-based services, ensuring high-quality and accessible care for patients every day. Our purpose is simple yet powerful – to make a difference for every person and every moment that matters. Guided by our CARE values - Compassionate, Accomplished, Respectful, and Encouraging - we foster a culture where everyone feels supported, recognised, and empowered to do their best work.

We are seeking to appoint a Non-Executive Director to join our board and to chair our Risk and Audit Management Committee. This pivotal role calls for a strategic and commercially astute leader with deep expertise in governance, finance, and risk. As a Non-Executive Director, you will provide independent oversight on matters of strategy, performance, and risk, helping to shape DHU’s future while ensuring robust financial stewardship and the delivery of safe, patient-centred services.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with recent senior finance leadership experience, a proven track record of delivering results in complex organisations, and preferably with experience as a non-executive director. You will bring inclusive leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to make challenging decisions that support long-term strategic goals. Your entrepreneurial mindset and ability to influence at Board level will be key as DHU continues to grow and make a meaningful impact in the communities it serves.
